Norway, again.

Hi

In the name of research, and after my winter visit to Bergen and Oslo in January, I fancied visiting Norway in the summertime. I thought May would be close enough to the summer to be very different from January but as it turns out, not so much. But, you know me, never one to shun a bit of snow, I embraced a step-back into the cold weather and absolutely loved it.

We went on a P&O cruise that stopped at Stavanger on the way, Haugesund on the way back, and spent two days meandering up and down a couple of fjords, stopping at the very tiny villages at the end of each, Olden and Skjolden. The photo above was taken in Skjolden. We had been on a walk, heading towards the waterfall you can see behind me which was one of the main attractions in the area. I’m not going to lie, it was a bit of a let down because we had already seen some more spectacular waterfalls the day before. But because we went that way, we ended up stumbling across the cabin of Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher. Honestly, neither of us knew who he was, but the cabin itself was intriguing because from across the water it looked completely inaccessible.

In the left-hand picture, almost right in the middle, across the fjord and up a bit, you will see the cabin. The centre picture is the vertiginous path we climbed to get there, with chains and ropes to help. We were both wondering how we were going to get back down… But you can see how wonderful the view was. And we were lucky enough to bump into a couple who took a photo for us.

I came home and made lots of amendments to Dreams in Norway which was already finished, but it’s never too late to make a change, and it’s all the better for it. It’s out on Tuesday 2nd June in paperback and on Kindle and I can’t wait to hear what you think about it. I’d be so grateful if you’d be willing to leave a review on Amazon. Reviews help other readers discover my books, especially when it’s a new series, so if you’re able to, thank you so much.

Here are a few more pics of Norway to whet your appetite. Is there anywhere more glorious to enjoy a pint than on the edge of a fjord?

Writing News

I am well into writing the second Norway book and here is a sneak preview for you – it’s called Entwined in Norway and will be Ida’s story. I love her! She’s so feisty but has a heart of gold and I have a guy called Erik who I think will be perfect for her…

A new Iceland book will be coming later this year too. I’m already mulling over ideas but I’m trying not to think too hard about it until I’ve finished with Ida and Erik. One thing at a time.

An Indie Author Recommendation

Throughout 2026 I’m collaborating with a group of Indie Romance authors and each month I’ll share one of their books! If you’ve been obsessed with Off Campus on Amazon Prime, this sports romance could be exactly what you’re after.

She writes the rulebook. He was born to break it.

Jenna Sharpe lives by three rules:

  1. Don’t mix business with pleasure.
  2. Don’t fall for “nice guys.”

  3. Never touch one of her dad’s rugby players—especially not her best friend’s younger brother.

Back in the Scottish Highlands for a few months to support her dad after her mum’s death, she’s here to keep things steady… not blow up her life in one hotel room with Geordie MacDonald.

The boy who used to trail after her and his sister is long gone. The man standing in his place is all quiet confidence and capable hands; starting over in their hometown, turning heads on her dad’s team, and looking at her like she’s worth every risk. One reckless night together becomes a secret, no-strings fling with an expiry date.

She’s going back to Glasgow. He’s staying in Cluanie with the business, the club, and the mates who are like brothers to him.

By day, Geordie’s rewiring houses and playing the best rugby of his life. By night, he’s sneaking through a village where gossip travels faster than the final score, just to get to Jenna’s door—the one place he finally feels like he belongs.

Reading and watching

My TBR pile is huge at the moment. I am currently reading an ARC copy of my friend Ko Porteous’ debut novel, The Freshman Parents. It’s about two single parents who meet when their daughters start university. It’s so witty, the observations are spot on and for anyone who’s had a child go to uni or is an empty-nester, you’ll especially enjoy it.

Unusually for me I’ve just read a thriller, Your Little Lies by Sue Fortin. I couldn’t put it down, it’s about a woman and her family who move to a new house and it brings her secret past back into her life.

I loved watching Off Campus on Amazon Prime. We watched all the episodes in no time at all and I still hadn’t had enough of it so the original book, The Deal by Elle Kennedy is next on my list to read. I also have Elsie Silver’s Fever Dream ready to go on my Kindle. So many books, so little time!

Aside from the hockey romance, I’ve been enjoying the new series of Rivals. They’ve done the 80s so well and last night’s episode made me wonder whether a series of Polo is in the pipeline… I hope so. And I’ve been loving Interior Design Masters. It makes me want to decorate my whole house.

Thanks as ever for your support. Happy reading!
